Rooms in Novel ‘Sherlock Holmes’

210*210*210mm

Paper Installation Publication

Created in 2021

I love to read detective novels. There are many wonderful supporting characters in Sherlock Holmes novels. They all have distinct personality traits. In Sherlock Holmes novels, there are many descriptions of Holmes' laboratory and 221B, which made me curious about the rooms of those supporting characters. Therefore, I created these rooms according to the characters' personalities in the novels.

Room 01

Irene Adler’s Room

Irene is a prima donna at La Scala Opera House in Italy and also a socialite, so I made a lot of gorgeous decorations in her room.

Room 02
Mrs. Hudson’s Room
Mrs. Hudson is a woman who likes to keep her house clean and tidy. Many of the scenes in the book describe her making breakfast in the kitchen, so I set her room as the kitchen.

Room 03

Professor James Moriarty ’s Room

Professor Moriarty is recognized as the first super villain in the Sherlock Holmes stories. He is a professor of mathematics at the university. He has a good reputation in the eyes of ordinary people, but he is actually the head of the world's criminal organization. So in his room I designed some elements such as skulls and daggers.

Room 04

The Baker Street’s Boys
The group in "The Detectives of Sherlock Holmes" written by British detective novelist Conan Doyle, a group of street kids often employed by Sherlock Holmes in "The Detectives of Sherlock Holmes". Therefore, there are many designs such as haystacks and wooden beds in their rooms.
